ABOUT DAN TOPOREK
A Lifetime of Service. A Commitment to Arizona's Future.
Dan Toporek is running for State Senate in Arizona’s Legislative District 2 because he believes every family deserves the chance to build a stable, affordable, and secure life right here in our community. For Dan, that belief isn’t political, it’s personal. It’s a value shaped by his Arizona upbringing, strengthened through decades of military service, and reinforced through his work advocating for everyday Arizonans.
Rooted in Arizona Values
Dan is the son of a soldier and a teacher—two people whose lives embodied service, sacrifice, and care for others. From them, he learned what it means to show up for your community, to work hard, and to always aim to leave things better than you found them.
Growing up in Arizona, Dan saw firsthand the challenges families face and the importance of strong schools, safe neighborhoods, and a government that works for the people.
These lessons guided every step of his journey.
Decades of Service to Our Country and State
Dan followed in his father’s footsteps and joined the U.S. Army, beginning a military career defined by leadership, accountability, and a deep commitment to the people he served alongside. Dan served as an Attack Helicopter Pilot in the U.S. Army on active duty and in the Arizona National Guard, both at home and deployed overseas.
Even after retiring from military service, Dan continued to serve.
He worked on behalf of Arizonans for U.S. Senator Mark Kelly and later with the Federal Aviation Administration, where he focused on improving safety, solving problems, and delivering results, not headlines.
These experiences taught him what true leadership looks like: listening first, finding common ground, and always putting people before politics.
A Champion for Arizona Families
As State Senator, Dan will bring that same steady, service-driven leadership to the issues that matter most to LD2 families:
Making Life More Affordable
Dan understands the pressure LD2 families feel as housing, groceries, utilities, and everyday essentials continue to rise. He will fight for policies that lower costs, protect consumers, support renters and homeowners, and strengthen local economic opportunity.
Strengthening Public Schools
With a teacher for a mother, Dan knows great schools are the heart of strong communities. He believes every child deserves access to quality education and every teacher deserves the resources and respect needed to do their job well.
Improving Access to Healthcare
No one should have to choose between paying a medical bill and paying rent. Dan will work to expand access to affordable healthcare, lower prescription drug costs, and protect mental health services.
Protecting Arizona's Natural Resources
Water is life in Arizona. Dan will fight for responsible water management, conservation, and policies that safeguard our land, air, and water for future generations.
Safe, Thriving Neighborhoods
Dan supports community-focused, evidence-based public safety measures that keep neighborhoods secure while strengthening trust and fairness.
Dan's Approach
In every role he has held, pilot, soldier, public servant, husband, and father—Dan has lived by the belief that leadership is about service, not status. He is running for State Senate because LD2 deserves a representative who listens, shows up, and works for everyone, not just the politically connected.
Dan isn’t interested in the partisan fights that divide us. He’s focused on solutions that make life better.
A Note from Dan
“Arizona has given me every opportunity in my life, from the values I was raised with to the community I’ve been proud to serve. Now I’m ready to give back in a new way. I’m running for State Senate because families in LD2 deserve a future where housing is affordable, schools are strong, healthcare is accessible, and everyone feels safe and supported. I’m ready to serve again, and I’m asking you to join me.”
